Partners 20+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry
including leadership positions in corporate development, product
marketing, and manufacturing.
His knowledge of the industry, technology, markets, and key
decision makers, combined with significant experience managing buy
side M&A transactions from concept through post-merger integration,
enables Mr. Person to quickly identify important issues,
opportunities, and value drivers from both the buyers’ and sellers’
perspectives, and to guide clients to successful outcomes. Mr.
Person previously worked for LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) where
he was senior director and head of the corporate development group
with responsibility for the company's M&A and corporate venture
capital activities. Under his
leadership, the company completed 10 acquisitions totaling $1.8
billion and made 17 equity investments totaling $45 million.
Mr. Person served on the board of directors of two of LSI’s
portfolio companies.
Earlier in his tenure at LSI, Mr. Person worked as a product
marketing manager in the company’s ASIC product marketing
organization where he and his team developed and managed portfolios
of ASIC, mixed-signal IP, and advanced packaging products,
generating more than $400 million in annual sales. More recently, Mr. Person served as vice president
of business development for Virage Logic Corporation (NASDAQ: VIRL),
a semiconductor IP company, where he was responsible for M&A,
development of the company's strategic plan, and management of its
partners program. Mr.
Person also worked as an independent management consultant, advising
several technology start-up companies on a range of operational,
strategic, and business development issues. Earlier in his
career, Mr. Person was manufacturing manager for Intergraph
Corporation’s Advanced Processor Division where he was responsible
for production and manufacturing engineering for the Clipper family
of RISC microprocessors. Mr. Person began his career with Schlumberger
(NYSE: SLB) as a field engineer working in its Oilfield Services
Unit where he provided wireline logging and well completion services
to oil and gas companies operating in the Gulf of Mexico.
Mr. Person holds a MBA from Santa Clara University
and a BSEE from the University of Mississippi.
He currently serves on the University of Mississippi’s
Engineering School Advisory Board.
